Neurologist, Barrow Neurological Institute

Overview

A medical doctor, board-certified neurologist, and geriatric neurologist, Marwan Noel Sabbagh dedicates his career to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related neurodegenerative diseases.

He is a lead investigator in many important national trials for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Marwan Noel Sabbagh serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s and Dementia TRCI, and is Editor-in-Chief of Neurology and Therapy.

Author and co-author of over 420 medical and scientific articles on Alzheimer’s disease research, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his medical degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson.

He completed his neurology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and his fellowship in geriatric neurology and dementia at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, where he joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor.

Before joining the faculty at Barrow Neurological Institute, he held the Camille and Larry Ruvo Chair for Brain Health, directed the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas, and served as Principal Investigator and founder of the NIH-funded Nevada Alzheimer’s Disease Research Program.

Previously, he directed the Banner Sun Health Research Institute in Sun City, Arizona. Currently, Dr. Marwan Noel serves as Associate Program Director for the Neurology Residency Research Program.
