Health: innovations that will amaze you

In this new issue, Enquêtes de région focuses on our health. Everyone hopes to receive better care and live longer, healthier lives. Anne-Sophie Mandrou and Nicolas Albrand set out to discover some astonishing innovations in Occitanie: robots helping carers and patients, promising treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, and an encounter with Dylan, a young blind man who regained his sight thanks to a tooth transplant.

‘Alzheimer’s: Regenlife, treating with light’. The Montpellier-based start-up Regenlife uses near-infrared light stimulation to treat inflammatory brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s. This is an astonishing drug-free therapeutic approach, which is being tested by Toulouse University Hospital, among others.
